# Mastery in gear

Hi  
I upgraded my gear to rare but it has a light mastery which is useless to me. Is there any part of the game that allow players to change this? Basic question as i just started couple weeks ago. Appreciate any help.

@cagiva4118 , at this point no. There is currently no way to change the mastery.

It’s not necessarily useless, however. Also, eventually you will need to play all classes and can gain value on a different class. But I currently do all content and some of my gear is off color.
