Giving Titles to the "Untitled" Seasons: Season 2.0 (The Fallen Star)

Chapter 2, Part 10 (Quest 20)

Official Chapter Title: The Star Crater

The Location: Lava Lake/Volcano The Enemies:

  • Battle 1: Wyvern, Flaming Snorri, Crabzog

The Dialogue:

[Pre-Battle]

Amidst the destruction, we finally came upon a large glowing crater…

Auri: Is this the fallen star?

Adhakus: It’s not like anythin’ I’ve ever seen before.

Xione: There are traces of magic here… old magic…

Player: The kind of magic we should be worried about?

Xione: If you choose to be. I choose to be curious.

Player: Let’s keep searching, but be careful everyone.

[Post-Battle Stinger]

Adhakus: Orcs and Dwarves - not only corrupted, but WORKIN’ together? This is gettin’ personal…

Player: I’m sorry, Adhakus - did you know him?

Grungli: Hmph, D’ya think all dwarves know each other? Next ye’ll be sayin’ we all look th’ same.

Player: What? No! I just meant because Adhakus said it was getting personal… that made it sound like… oh, never mind…

Adhakus: Eh? I just saw those big ol’ arms o’ his and figured it was a waste o’ a good smith.

Player: Does anybody have any idea what is happening here though? An evil Dragon we can deal with, but this…

Eveline: There are forces in the universe far older than Etheria - Gods and Daemons who live out amongst the stars and pay this world no heed.

Xione: And you think one LANDED here? Surely there would be more evidence of their arrival.

Eveline: Much has happened in this world lately. Power has shifted. Perhaps one of those Gods blinked and noticed us. Perhaps a herald has been sent…

Xione: Delicious. I am intrigued…

My Proposed Title:

“Crater Expectations”

(Runner up: “Lava at First Sight”. The main title is a literary play on the Dickens classic, capturing both the massive scale of the discovery and the team’s hope—or dread—of what they’ll find inside. I chose the runner-up to reflect Xione’s reaction; while everyone else is worried about cosmic doom, she finds the arrival of a potential star-daemon “deliciously” intriguing.)

Chapter 3, Part 1 (Quest 21)

The Location: Lava Lake/Volcano (Battle 1) / Mountains (Battle 2)

The Enemies:

  • Battle 1: Harpy
  • Battle 2: Ogre

The Dialogue:

Player: Eveline and Xione seem to think something other than a fallen star may have landed here. Darkhunter, can you track it?

Darkhunter: I can track anything, but in this case, I’m not sure I need to.

Player: What do you mean?

Darkhunter: Assuming we are tracking a single creature, I would think it headed for Agaria.

Player: Where it corrupted the Dragonguard… Of course. But wouldn’t we have seen signs of its passing on the way here?

Darkhunter: If we knew what we were looking for, which we didn’t. Let’s head back - I guarantee we’ll have signs of its passage within a day.

My Proposed Title:

“Hindsight is 500/500”

(Runner up: “Ogre the Hill and Far Away”. The main title is a play on the phrase “Hindsight is 20/20,” customized for Darkhunter’s centuries of experience and elven eyesight—it acknowledges the group’s frustration at missing the obvious signs. The runner-up is a playful nod to the battle at hand; while the party is busy fighting an Ogre in the mountains, the true threat has already put significant distance between itself and the crater.)

Chapter 3, Part 2 (Quest 22)

The Location: Mountains (Battle 1) / Ruins (Battle 2)

The Enemies:

  • Battle 1: Dragonguard Knight

  • Battle 2: Dragonguard Champion

The Dialogue:

Northelm: E-excuse me, Brie?

Brie: Is everything alright?

Northelm: I w-was going to ask you the s-same thing…

Brie: Of course. Well - as alright as anything ever gets around here, I guess. There’s always one adventure after another.

Northelm: I know. And I w-wanted to apologize for that.

Brie: Oh, Northelm. None of this is YOUR fault.

Northelm: But y-you’ve been quiet lately, and I know that I probably d-disappointed you - making promises about setting down, and then we find the Dragonguard have ch-changed…

Brie: You’ve never disappointed me, Northelm.

Northelm: I h-haven’t? But then why have you b-been so quiet?

Brie: It… It’s just… Maybe another adventure isn’t so bad after all?

Northelm: Oh… Ummm…

Brie: Think of it this way - if you hadn’t wanted to join the Dragonguard, we never would have found out there was a big problem in Agaria.

My Proposed Title:

“Guarded Feelings”

(Runner up: “Peak Anxiety”. The main title has a double meaning: it references the Dragonguard enemies patrolling the area while describing Northelm’s hesitant, stuttering emotional state. The runner-up bridges the gap between the mountain setting and Northelm’s personality—as the party climbs higher, so does his stress level about failing Brie’s expectations.)

Chapter 3, Part 4 (Quest 24)

The Location: Forest (Battle 1) / Ruins (Battle 2)

The Enemies:

  • Battle 1: Eldritch Daemon

  • Battle 2: Dragonguard Champion

The Dialogue:

Player: What was that creature? It reminded me of the Daemons we found near the Tree of flame, but it was different.

Eveline: Different indeed - almost as if it were not from this world.

Player: Xione? Do you know what it was?

Xione: Must I say this again? No - this magic is not known to me. It interests me. It intrigues me. But I have never seen its like before.

Player: In my defence, last time I asked, you just changed the subject.

Xione: Presumably because I was appropriately offended by your insinuation that everything evil in this world involves Dark Elves. But to ensure you don’t ask again, no.

Player: Okay. Allow me to rephrase the question. Given your vast experience with magic - of both the evil and non-evil varieties - are there any theories you have for us here?

Xione: Hmph… Flattery… This magic does feel fueled by darkness, but I do not think it is dark magic. Eveline was right to suggest it may be otherworldly.

Eveline: I do not think the creature we fought is the main cause of this corruption though. Whatever fell to earth is likely FAR more dangerous.

My Proposed Title:

“Xione-tology”

(Runner up: “The Daemon Is In The Details”. The main title is a playful jab at Xione’s ego and her dogmatic belief in her own magical expertise. The runner-up refers to the party’s attempt to analyze the specific, alien traits of the Eldritch Daemon—trying to find the “devil in the details” to understand a threat that doesn’t follow the established rules of magic.)

Chapter 3, Part 5 (Quest 25)

The Location: Ruins (Battle 1) / Mountains (Battle 2)

The Enemies:

  • Battle 1: Eldritch Daemon

  • Battle 2: Dragonguard Knight

The Dialogue:

Auri: Toragon, I’ve been meaning to ask you something…

Toragon: Let me guess - you want to learn how to craft a helm?

Auri: No. I’m being serious. It’s about my father. I know he spoke to you immediately after the battle at the tree…

Toragon: Honestly, given how sharp Dragon’s ears are, and the way people eavesdrop around here, I figured you just listened in.

Auri: It was his wish to speak privately, so I honored it.

Toragon: I forget what an honest soul you are sometimes, kid. Sure, ask away.

Auri: Did he… Did he mention me?

Toragon: What kind of a fool question is that? Did he mention you? You were the only thing on his mind. You were the reason he held out at that tree until we got there.

Auri: Oh… But… But what did he say?

Toragon: Listen kid, I’m not going to tell you everything he said. But he was proud of you, okay? Very proud.

My Proposed Title:

“Forging a Memory”

(Runner up: “Tempered Pride”. The main title highlights Toragon’s role as the group’s smith, though here he is crafting a legacy rather than armor. The runner-up uses a blacksmithing metaphor to describe the late King’s pride—it was “tempered” by the heat of battle and the weight of leadership, making it the strongest thing he left behind for Auri.)

Chapter 3, Part 6 (Quest 26)

The Location: Mountains (Battle 1) / Forest (Battle 2)

The Enemies:

  • Battle 1: Eldritch Daemon

  • Battle 2: Dragonguard Captain

The Dialogue:

Toragon: Ugh - that was another knight I knew.

Player: A good one or a bad one?

Toragon: Doesn’t even matter any more, does it?

Player: I think it does. I think it has to matter, or what are we fighting for?

Toragon: Too much philosophy for me, kid. If I want to think that hard, I’ll go read a book.

Player: You and Auri seem to be getting along better.

Toragon: Yeah. I think we’ve figured it out. I’m more worried about Northelm at the moment. Is this what being a parent’s like? If it is, I hate it.

Player: What’s up with Northelm?

Toragon: He’s moping. He doesn’t normally mope. He had his heart set on being a Dragonguard, and then THIS happened. Poor kid. I feel bad for him.

Player: I’ll check in on him for you.

My Proposed Title:

“Pop-up Problems”

(Runner up: “Grump and Circumstance”. While the main title hits that triple pun on Toragon’s “Pop” instincts and the surprise enemies, the runner-up is a witty play on “Pomp and Circumstance.” it mocks the formal, legendary status of the Dragonguard by contrasting it with Toragon’s moody, unphilosophical approach to the tragedy.)

Chapter 3, Part 7 (Quest 27)

The Location: Forest (Battle 1) / Pine Forest (Battle 2)

The Enemies:

  • Battle 1: War Boar

  • Battle 2: Eldritch Daemon

The Dialogue:

Player: Hey, Northelm. Sorry the return to Agaria hasn’t gone as planned for you.

Northelm: Ummm… That’s okay. There’s bigger p-problems than mine…

Player: You’re a member of the team - your problems are our problems. But the world IS a crazy place right now. Has been for a while.

Northelm: I wasn’t really s-sure if I wanted to join the D-Dragonguard anyway.

Player: Oh? I thought that was what you made a wish for?

Northelm: Yeah… I think I wish f-for the wrong thing though…

Player: What do you mean?

Northelm: Oh… Ummm… N-Nothing. S-sorry.

My Proposed Title:

“Be Careful What You Wish For-est”

(Runner up: “Wishful Sinking”. The main title is a punny nod to the Forest setting and the classic warning about the danger of wishes, highlighting Northelm’s deep regret. The runner-up describes the literal sinking feeling in Northelm’s gut as he realizes that even if he gets what he wanted, he might not want what he gets.)

Chapter 3, Part 8 (Quest 28)

The Location: Pine Forest (Battle 1) / Fortress (Battle 2)

The Enemies:

  • Battle 1: Dragonguard Champion

  • Battle 2: Dragonguard Knight

The Dialogue:

Northelm: Brie? C-can I talk to you for a m-moment?

Brie: Of course. What’s wrong? Are you worried about the Dragonguard?

Northelm: N-no. Well, y-yes, but not because they’re attacking us. I am worried about that t-too, though, but… ummm…

Brie: That’s alright, Northelm. What else is bothering you?

Northelm: I’ve b-been thinking about our t-talk the other day. And I’m not g-going to join the D-Dragonguard, if you don’t want me t-to.

Brie: Northelm, no! Why would you say that! I want you to do what makes you happy.

Northelm: B-but it won’t make YOU happy…

Brie: Oh… I admit I was a little thrown by your suggestion of settling down, but that was only because… well… I think I’ve come to enjoy our life of adventure.

Northelm: Oh, y-you have? But I thought…

Brie: I know what you thought - and I do miss my cows! But there’s plenty of time to return to the life of a farmer.

Northelm: Oh. Y-you’re right… I didn’t th-think about that…

Brie: There’s a lot to think about - but none of it means you should give up on your dreams. For now, lets make sure there’s still a Dragonguard for you to join.

My Proposed Titles:

“Mooving On”

(Runner up: “Pasture Bedtime”. The main title is a classic cow pun for Brie, signaling her decision to move past her life as a simple milker and embrace her role as a hero. The runner-up is a playful jab at the fact that these two former farm-folk are now spending their nights fighting at a Fortress instead of being tucked away safely in a field.)

Chapter 3, Part 9 (Quest 29)

The Location: Fortress (Battle 1) / Fortress (Battle 2)

The Enemies:

  • Battle 1: War Boar

  • Battle 2: Eldritch Daemon

The Dialogue:

Darkhunter: The trail is leading us into Southern Bartonia. I haven’t traveled these lands for centuries, any idea where we’re heading?

Toragon: We’re heading straight towards the main Dragonguard Tower.

Player: Oh? I thought that was Dragonguard Keep - where I trained all that time ago?

Toragon: Yeah - but your training mostly involved cutting off a Hill Giant’s head and chasing after a Dragon, kid. You never had any time for proper lessons.

Player: So what is this Dragonguard Tower?

Toragon: It’s where Lord Felric lives.

Player: Lord Felric?

Toragon: He’s the leader of the Dragonguard. The Knight Captain reports to him… reported to him… I don’t know any more.

Player: I hope this Lord Felric hasn’t been corrupted too.

Toragon: Kid, he was corrupted YEARS ago. There has never been a more miserable, sallow, face blight on the lands of Agaria than Felric. He’s the worst of a bad bunch.

Player: Still - we need to know what’s happened to him before we can help the Dragonguard.

Toragon: Look on the bright side. If the corruption’s taken him too, it might actually improve his demeanor…

My Proposed Title:

“A Towering Disappointment”

(Runner up: “Tower of Sour”. The main title plays on the grand scale of the Dragonguard Tower and the incredibly low expectations Toragon has for the man inside. The runner-up is a punchy nod to Lord Felric’s famously miserable and “sallow” attitude, which seems to be legendary even among hardened smiths like Toragon.)

Chapter 3, Part 10 (Quest 30) Official Chapter Title: Dragonguard Throne

The Location: Tower

The Enemies (Boss Battle):

  • Enemy 1: Dragonguard Champion

  • Enemy 2: Lord Felric

  • Enemy 3: The Eldritch Flame (Crab Demon)

The Dialogue:

Eveline: This camp, and the tower, are completely overrun with corruption. Are we all ready to face the battle ahead?

Darkhunter: And the trail leads here. Whatever we are tracking is in the tower ahead.

Player: I’m afraid Lord Felric will be lost to us, Toragon.

Toragon: Ha! I was afraid he WOULDN’T be. If I’m honest, I was kind of looking forward to running him through with one of his own Dragonguard blades.

Eveline: Toragon! Show some respect! There may still be knights here unaffected.

Toragon: Aye. We’ll see, Eveline. Then if there are, let’s free these unfortunate fools.

[Post-Battle Stinger]

Player: I think you’re right, Eveline. That was not a creature from our world.

Eveline: There are many terrible things out amongst the stars - some have passed this way before.

Toragon: Well THAT sounded ominous.

Eveline: It was meant to. I don’t think this is over yet.

Toragon: So… Still want to join the Dragonguard, Northelm?

Northelm: Yes, sir, I do. Though n-not for a while yet. There a-are adventures s-still to be had.

Mutiny Vance: Sounds like Brie had the conversation with him…

Xione: She is a strong-willed woman. And he is a weak-willed man. I give them a chance on that alone.

Mutiny Vance: They can hear you, Xione. You know that, don’t you?

Xione: Of course, but I’m far more interested in an eldritch power manifesting in our world… and all the power and opportunity that comes with it…

My Proposed Titles:

“Shell of His Former Self”

(Runner up: “Crabby Leadership”. The main title is a triple pun on the corrupted Lord Felric: he is a hollow shell of a man, he is accompanied by a literal shelled Crab Demon, and his nobility is officially dead. The runner-up is a jab at Felric’s famously sour attitude and his new choice in Eldritch roommates.)

That is gem-tastic news! :gem_stone: This feels like a critical hit to my heart. I’m a huge fan of the game, so seeing my ideas potentially become a part of the world of Etheria is a dream come true. It was a ton of fun questing through that chapter, and seeing them in-game would be the ultimate Mythic loot! Can’t wait to see which ones make it to the final board. :crossed_swords::sparkles:
