No one at IP2 has any interest in crypto, firstly.
A console wouldn’t even run if it somehow had been made into a crypto farm, which is why that happens on PC. It wouldn’t just over heat while playing PQ3, it would ALWAYS be overheating. That sort of programming runs in the background 24/7.
I also have no idea how we could even possibly implement that into a console version of our games without Microsft or Sony detecting it as part of our submissions we have to make to get the games releases and updates released, again, which is why that commonly happens to PC games - cos people just can download them from wherever. Same with getting a regular virus on your pc
Also, part of me does want to joke that if we were making money from crypto, do you think we would have such a tiny team?
All that being said, I have mentioned, we are working to optimise the experience for console. For now, this is the solution. The visual difference, in my opinion, is pretty small.
Again. That’s the only information I have right now.
I agree completely. Switching Target FPS from 60 fps to 30 fps and Graphics mode from Quality to Performance has made a huge difference when playing it on my ps4 in terms of it running much quieter with less issues and visually its hardly noticeable. You don’t even miss the higher settings tbh.
Noted, thank you, and lol on the tiny team. I appreciate the response. I still don’t agree with having settings in game available that can cause said issue. Good thing I have solar panels and no electric bill, because I got my ac in the 60’s when playing PQ3. Expected summer temps highs are 120ish Farenheit in Vegas
Thank you for the 411. I appreciate the communication. I also thank you for explaining the crypto thing to me. I am ignorant, but a pc player mentioned it to me. I understand now that farming as I suggested is not really possible. You guys should make PQ3 slot machines. They would kill it here in Vegas.
