(Excluding the two current season spells which I’ll finish quickly with ancient coins once they migrate to the archives).
Has anyone else completed this behemoth of a grindfest? If so, give yourself a big pat on the back. Even though technically it will never end all the while new seasons are released, as a habitual completionist I’m glad all archive and story spells are finally maxed.
Sorry Xione, but I can’t say I’ll miss you and your measly offerings of 254 pages per transaction. Maybe I’ll get to use your services again at some point in the future but, as it stands, your dust and crystals have now become defunct. Adieu!
Ooooo! It is feasible??? Wow! Congratulations, that’s the real achievement in this game!
What’s your spell crit damage % now?
How long did it take you to get there?
What were your strategies to max spells?
I play 1 year, ~290 citadel, at 190% crit spell damage now, all spells minimum legendary, but even to get 100 more upgrades (to 200%) seems a long journey!
It’s taken months of daily grinding. I can say without hesitation that, of all the games I’ve played in my years including some serious grinding in certain Jrpgs, nothing comes close to this mostly due to the brutal rng.
My strategy was to farm Coin Collector and Dawn Circuit hard for archive spells and Xione crystals respectively. I finished the archive spells first and, in turn, Coin Collector ulitimate caches rewarded me with over a million in spell dust which I then used for the remainder of the story spells.
The real secret sauce though are Daily Deals. Keep refreshing them and buy the sets of 10,000 spell dust for 1000 gems. It’s by far the quickest way of obtaining spell dust.
Congrats!!! Very big milestone for the G.O.A.T of grinding. Points out a obvious flaw now all spelldust is useless to you something needs to be added to convert dust to something useful.
Cheers Kushenstein and I agree, Xione is basically useless now.
I think Jeto said a while back that the implementation of using spell dust on archive spells was a complicated issue, and tbh I’d be one unhappy bunny if that ever came into being after all the insane grinding I’ve endured, but maybe if there was a way for Xione to create pages for the new/current season spells before they migrate to the archives then it would at least keep her relevant and out of retirement?
I’m not sure what dust could be converted to that hasn’t already been catered for?
Yeah would take a bit of thought off the top of my head ore would be nice. something to reward the real grinders is due, Endgamers get no love and more n more resources become useless all our millions upon millions of shards, useless glyphs we can’t convert, now just stacking up spelldust we need some love for actually keeping up playing
How many thousands of Xione crystals did you think you burnt through on the way to 100% spell completion?
And yes, from someone who has over 90% spell completion, grinding the Archive for spell pages for seasons pre 3.0 is the absolute worst grind in the game currently.
I would give a very rough estimate of about 30 crystals per spell to evolve it to ancient mythic so I’d imagine somewhere around the late 5k-6k crystals to get the story spells done, but the real problem is obtaining those crystals.
For example, I had 22 story spells left to evolve from mythic to ancient mythic at the beginning of our current Dawn Circuit adventure so I estimated 12 crystals per spell needed for those 4k pages per spell, so 264 Xione crystals needed. With no word of a lie, I did a few hundred runs of the adventure and I got less than a dozen Xione crystals. The drops have been abysmal.
So in order to get the required amount of crystals using Eveline’s exchange feature I had to do DOUBLE the runs needed. So about 500 runs of Dawn Circuit just to evolve 22 spells from mythic to ancient mythic….I basically pulled an all nighter to get it done lol. Roughly 24 hours of solid grinding over 1.5 days!
I’m staring down the barrel of this phase of the grind and yeah… the math is very, very ugly for Xione crystals for those last few percentage points.
So much this. While you do get a random rollower crystal after each run, there is no way that the odds are evenly split over the follower crystals. Crystals such as Xione, Eveline, and Grungli are rather rare. Crystals from Auri, Resh, Mutiny, the crafters, and Gong drop like candy.
You don’t even need them to be honest. Just use Xione’s free abilities. Use the Xione crystals if its a spell or color you want to max. Remember this game is a marathon, not a sprint.
Its been my experience they all have the same drop rate. Just farm the dungeon of the crystal you want. You get them rather quickly.
In the theme of the similar threads that are the talk of the moment, it’s really more of “something to do” thing to keep me interested in the game.
When you have a meta spell gear set, a meta skull gear set, and a max xp farming set, you start running out of different things to do to advance an account. So, spell pages it is to pass the time. And, I already have my primary color maxed.
I don’t have it in me to pull all nighters any more, especially in a world where autoplay is common and expected when farming (which I personally consider to be exceptionally boring and hard to do for very extended periods of time).
Like everything else in this game, there are diminishing returns on advancing anything as one gets closer to maximum in whatever is being advanced. So, I have no expectations of obtaining max spell pages anytime even remotely soon. The 90%+ spell book completion rate is very misleading, as it does not consider the volume of spell pages remaining to complete the spell book.
I do wonder if I ever will max out spells like Swivel did, or ever want to do that, as the sheer astronomical amount of Xione crystals and spell dust needed will likely prevent 99%+ of players from ever achieving that goal.
You’ll get it, piece of cake. Remember now the higher your completion rate, the more spell dust you’re earning, so it all evens out.
I like playing every class, every color, every set, every ability, every spell. So I have a long way to go before I get bored. Try changing it up if the game is feeling stale to you.
