How would people feel about spell crit chance being the base 5%, plus 20% or your spellbook level?
So a level 50 player would have a spell crit chance of 15%: base 5% + 10% (20% of 50).

I think the devs have to be really careful about raising the spell critical chance. I think the best way to break the 5% spell critical chance would probably be as part of a variant set. That would provide a powerful advantage without it getting too far out of hand. Some good candidates for it would be Elven or Dragonguard (Flametree might be a fun set for it too). Elven is a fairly lackluster set IMO, but it has the Elven ring that gives you extra mana whenever you score a critical hit. And it has a 75% chance of adding 2 extra turns to your Heroic Effort buff, so some nice synergy there for a variant with higher spell criticals.
