My question is: What happens for the next 6 months (and the 6 months after that, and so on)?

Once reaching X, it just stops giving medals. Cost to open chests is scaled to X, but any difficulty can be done.
We don’t know exact loot yet, but if it is anything like the other X, it is likely a gold chest, ruby chest, and diamond chest per day. Meaning 1 disconnect on it daily is either a 100 gem loss or a ruby + diamond key loss.
