I think Jocea needs an update. She used to be pretty good, one of my 3 favorite followers to use (Jocea, Mutiny, Xione). Recently however, she really suffers from the game giving you less food and chests being way better than they were before. Not to mention all the excellent minions we’ve been getting lately in archives like Jelly King, Scarabee, and Whelpie. Which Jocea of course doesn’t have access to giving you.
At the very least her food cost needs to be adjusted to whatever the percentage food was lowered. Maybe something like 300 food for using her would be more fair.
Used Jocea 100 times recently. Here is the breakdown of the minions I got. Didn’t turn out too well for me…
I think quite a few followers will eventually get a rework.
You are right that she needs one. It would be really nice to be able to target craft specific minions at Legendary or Mythic, but that probably throws the whole minion balance out of wack.
I also wouldn’t mind her being able to “train” a minion over a longer period of time. Something where I could send an epic minion to her and some resources, and after a couple days it would come back Legendary. Then send one out for a week, and it would come back mythic.
Maybe remove pets from chests and make Jocea able to craft (train?) targeted pets.
It always seemed odd to me that people are locking their pets in chests… and how is there any food also in these chests with these hungry little buggers in there too?
No, no, you crearly don’t understand it. It says that you send a minion in a mission to unlock the chests. So they clearly carry the chest with them while they travel to different Etheria locations where wisemen with magical powers will help unlocking them. The one able to open wood chests is in next town, so the minion doesn’t take long to come back. But the one that opens diamond chests lives in the very end of Etheria so that is why they take too long. But if you give the minions food as incentive they finish faster. It does make a lot of sense… Kind of…
@00h00m I love getting pets in my treasure chests. Its usually one of the main reasons I farm that dungeon. Also finding pets in treasure chests has always been a very important part (if not the most important part) of fantasy storytelling.
This was what I got when I prompted ChatGPT to handle this situation.
Disclamer: THIS IS SATIRE
"Dear Sir/Madam,
RE: Cease and Desist – Unethical Treatment of Animals in Video Games
I am writing on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to formally demand that 505 Games cease and desist immediately from the unethical practice of placing pets in loot chests within your video games.
It has recently come to our attention that your company has introduced a feature where pets are included as items within loot chests, which players can acquire through gameplay mechanisms such as purchase or chance-based systems. This practice trivializes the value of animals by treating them as mere commodities to be bought, sold, or traded, without regard for their well-being or the ethical implications of such actions.
PETA strongly opposes any form of exploitation or mistreatment of animals, whether real or virtual. By including pets in loot chests, you are perpetuating a harmful narrative that undermines the importance of respecting and protecting animal welfare. This practice also sets a concerning precedent for other developers and the gaming industry as a whole."
