New Player Guide

Here you can access a guide with compiled helpful information for new players. It includes general tips, basic information and also links to the more thorough guides that can be found elsewhere in this forum.

Thanks to Sibelios, original creator of the guide, and to all other players who have helped making and correcting it. I will try to keep completing it with information about the different game modes, including tips and advise of veteran players, answers to the most frequent questions… If you find any error, feel something is missing or have any contribution you believe it should be added please tell me. All feedback will be welcome since it will help making this guide better.

This guide is also available in our Throne of Odin discord server together with other guides, info and discussion about the game. All players are welcome (after joining, just let us know you are searching for info so that you are added as a Guest):

Higgy, as always, I greatly appreciate the time, effort, care, patience, detail-orientation, openness to feedback, and overall pleasant attitude you bring to us. The community is blessed to have you.
OK, after mopping up the shmaltz.
The guide looks great.
I–humbly–have two (potential) corrections, and one suggestion.
First, I thought that you could only debuff the stun barrier if the second row was a different color than the first. For example, as a necro, I am always creating rows of skulls but the stun barrier stays.
Second, I could be wrong but in the general game play section, it looks like you have written about a row cleanse instead of column.
Finally, as a suggestion, I wonder if you could include something about hunts. When I started and created new characters, I had them do hunts first before the story. The experience boost helps raise levels quickly, and turbocharges the character when they do start the story.
Thanks again

Thank you very much for the kind words. It is taking me quite a lot of time to update all the guides (although thanks to Sibelios’ great original work much less than what would have been needed to do them from scratch) so it is always nice to see they are being useful and appreciated.

The rows have to be independent. So that means rows of different color or rows of same color but not connected between them. So you can use 2 skull rows but you would need to make sure they aren’t connected.

You are correct. Thanks for the help, I have already corrected it.

I have plans to include all play modes, but it will take some time to get everything included. I will make sure to note down your feedback to take it into account when I am updating it, thank you very much :slightly_smiling_face:

October 31st update.

  • Gear section updated: stats and attributes subsection added and gear rarity and gear quality sub-sections updated.
  • Forging gear to max quality section added.

As more players reach the end game, start experimenting with the refine options in the forge and ask their doubts about it, I thought it was time to add some info on how to refine quality to get max quality gear. It is a pretty complex issue, sorry if I haven’t being able to make it shorter and simpler, but I believe in giving all the relevant info so that it can be well understood. Don’t hesitate to ask any doubt you may have about it.

The forge section is still in progress but the official info on it (link in the guide) should be pretty helpful.

As always, all feedback on how to improve the guides is welcome.
