The Problem: Right now, the chestpiece gives you 8% Armor when the enemy blinds you. It’s way too situational because you are entirely at the mercy of whether the AI has Blind or not. In the majority of fights, it does absolutely nothing.
The Solution: Flip the mechanic. Make it a reliable defensive engine that the enemy has to actively shut down.
- New Passive: Gain 4% Armor at the start of every turn.
- The Catch: If the enemy hits you with Blind, this armor engine completely stalls out and won’t turn back on until you cleanse the debuff.
Why This Works Way Better
- The 4% Sweet Spot: 4% is slightly higher than average gear, which is fair because it carries an inherent weakness attached to it.
- True Paladin Synergy: Paladins thrive in long, drawn-out matches and defensive playstyles. This gives you a scaling fortress of armor just for surviving, matching their natural strengths.
- An Actual Mini-Game: Instead of praying the AI blinds you, you are now actively playing around the debuff. You are in control, not the enemy, and this is vital for good healthy game design.
It turns a garbage-tier item into a solid reliable piece of gear. Giving more incentive to farm and run the entire 6 set.
The Silver Lining
The only real saving grace for the current design is its niche usefulness during specific yellow Events (where matching yellow automatically blinds you) or while grinding the Watchers in the Stars seasonal content. It serves as a decent safety net—mainly when you are relying on autoplay to farm stages and aren’t really paying close attention to the screen.
