Its a good idea, but I wouldn’t give the new abilities to Grungli, he’s already got enough on his plate. I’d give it to Resh for the random gambling theme or Adhakus to keep the glyph abilities between the two dwarves. The more followers that gain the ability to cannibalize their follower crystal for an effect, the better.
Id gowith kenpos idea here. I know we always hunt specific glyphs at different times (im looking at you 8 million armor glyphs) but we can already steadily create glyphs, and at much higher numbers per week than even a few months ago.
Id much rather the followers that literally do nothing gain things like this, and then later revist things if this nature. There are still 7 followers that have exactly zero use for their own crystal once level 50, and thats igniring the other 2 with abilities that are arguably not needes or used, and the one you hinestly dont need until youre even further than i am, and thats 1400 hours in give or take some for afk time.
Ontopic:
All follower crystals have use. Elyra’s crystals, for example, are great for converting to other crystals
What I’m really missing in this game is Auri raising the ore cap. Hope it happens one day.
Resh is very, very outdated at this point and badly in need of a revamp.
His two jackpot outcomes from his Mythic gamble are much more easily obtainable from other followers’ revamps that have occurred since Resh’s initial release as a follower.
Random Mythic Relic → Eveline can create the ones you directly need from Mythic relics that are directly farmable from the Expedition Adventures on-demand.
Random Glyph → Grungli can directly craft specific Mythic relics on-demand since his revamp.
So, currently, Resh’s functionality is both redundant and outdated to superior crafters.
He’s a prime candidate for the next follower revamp, IMO.
I agree, although I’d like to see Jocea get one first. Jocea used to be good, but since chests are better now and food is much more scarce, you’re better off using the food spent on Jocea to open a random chest early instead.
Jocea is also obsoleted by the fact that while her top jackpot outcome is a random non-seasonal Legendary pet, a player can now obtain a random non-seasonal Legendary AND a random non-seasonal Mythic pet from the Event shop every week (which Jocea can’t create at all).
She would also be another prime candidate for a rework. The only problem regarding Jocea is that minions are still on the old leveling system, which makes reworking her somewhat problematic. It is likely that minions were left on the old system because then it would be too easy for a newer player to amass an army on super high Cunning and Speed pets with a one-time sunk cost into a Minion scroll.
A good question is whether or not Ancient Mythic minions are in the cards down the road somewhere along with the inevitable Gear upgrades. If so, that would likely give the devs the design space needed for a Jocea revamp. After all, if a player is chasing Ancient Mythic things, they are clearly not new players where the devs do not have to worry so much about a new player becoming too powerful too quickly.
Her rework could just be as simple as lowering the cost of the ability. I’d be fine with that. Raise the gold cost, lower the food cost.
Maybe by burning a follower crystal it bumps the rarity on the random crafting up by one or something like that. Maybe guarantees an Epic minion or higher (up to mythic). Could even still be up to legendary, just better odds if they’re worried about community balance.
You already have the option to create the glyph you want or a random one. Swapping would just allow you to create a random one then swap for the one you want if you didn’t get it. I guess if you make the price the difference between making a random and a specific then at least you’d still pay the same to get the one you want - then what would be the point. If you made it cheaper then no-one would use the make a specific glyph.
Fair point, although down the road when no one needs spell glyphs anymore for example, should there at least be something pre-emptive in place for that or no? We can always make more heroes I guess, so there is that at least.
@NOLLUVDI Good point. That should be factored into the cost.
I didn’t even think of that but it turns out that my suggestion above actually works out as you’ve said for the ‘Choose glyph’ option.
Currently Random glyph (1000 ore) + 500 (suggested above) = 1500 ore (Current Craft / Create glyph cost).
To answer your question though (i.e. What is the point?), like Kenpo mentioned, and as I mentioned in my original post, the point is to exchange a glyph you currently have and don’t want or need (i.e. don’t intend to use) for something else that you want/need
Glyphs are obtained from multiple sources, and they are not always what you want/need. It would be useful to have a way to swap them.
In my case, I keep getting spell glyphs from the random pull in the shop every week. I want anything else but that! They are currently useless to me!
