Has anyone had a decent bazaar lately?

I’ll see what information is available > try to understand it myself  > and share what I can

I don’t know when I will be able to get back to this thread with that information though, but I’ll do what I can!

As a side note…. when are Playstation users going to get the new Bazaar layout that, by the looks of it, other platforms have been updated to already?

Since quite long I am not looking forward to the bazaar at all. I just enter it hoping we get enough non-gem offers to reach the goal easily, but never with any hopes of getting anything decent.

Bazaar, shop daily offers, KD rewards, chests… I have learned not to expect anything from them since most of the time we get nothing of value and expecting anything from them only makes you constantly frustrated. It is true that from time to time you get an exciting offer or drop, but most of the time it just feels boring and joyless. Does the occasional thrill of pulling a great drop or getting a much sought after offer compensate the endless worthless ones? Probably it does at the beginning, when there are more drops and offers you really need. But as time passes, your wallet fills with resources and most resources and items lose their value to you, you find yourself experiencing that excitement less and less, specially when RNG seems to go against you. You may reach a moment in which what should be a great and thrilling drop, a mythic item for example, can feel awfully disappointing if it is not the one you have been farming for ages but never drops. It just happened to me recently while farming The Doomholt for night boots, cloaks, bands and amulets: after a long dry spell without any mythic I have recently gotten 4 mythic drops… But 2 wands and 2 hoods. I should feel great for getting 4 mythics, but insteadit just felt as if the game RNG is trolling me.

I believe that one of the worst aspects of this game, which limits how much players can enjoy it, is the so unbalanced currency&resource system: stingy drop rates, lack of balance between the need and availability of resources, loss of the value of resources as you progress through the game and the extra frustration and disappointment inherent to the heavy dependency on RNG.

From my personal point of view I have tons of most shards but keep running out of minion shards. I could use more minion shards!

Secondly. The unicorn Bazzar Kenpo got with 4 glyphs for food (after restock) should be a celebration, alas once the realisation of how much food is required depression would quickly set in. Food can be bought with honor or marks but if you were to try to farm this in a day from chests since the food nurf it would be many many hours of farming and having a very healthy stockpile of keys to be able to open all the chests.

I believe the issue with the food has a really easy fix. We have seen a decrease in food drops in chests, probably due to the reworks promoting changes to the drop rates in order to get more spell pages, ore… Which in my opinion is a big mistake, since increasing the drops for some useful resources by decreasing the drops for other useful resources doesn’t help at all, it just changes which resources are more or less available.

Is the team aware that food and ore are great resources to balance drop rates? Comparing to other resources, they have 2 options that can be modified:

  1. The drop rate (how likely it is to get them in chests)
  2. The amount per drop (how much we get everytime they drop)

This means that even if their drop rates are decreased the team can increase the amount per drop to compensate. For example, let’s say that the food drop rate was halved to increase other item’s drop rates. Then, it would be as easy as doubling the amount of food per drop and we would still be getting the same amount of food. Or you may want to increase ore dropped now that it is more neccessary due to the forge. Then instead of changing its drop rate, you could just increase the amount per drop to avoid lowering drop rates for other necessary resources.

It seems so obvious to me that I don’t understand why it hasn’t been done. The same works for shards and to a lesser extent for spell pages. We are not asking to get tons of everything, but it would be nice to get at least enough food and ore te be able to fully enjoy the recent reworks. It doesn’t make sense to promote farming and opening chests with those, but then decreasing the amount of food we get (which is one of the best ways to be able to farm chests). I would love to play much more than what I currently do, but I cannot since I have neither keys nor food to keep opening chests. And that is pretty frustrating.

Unfortunately, there are some ratio/sizing safe regions we need to adhere to for PS, which takes away a lot of vertical space - so we are currently not able to implement this new layout without making it look really squished and probably hard to read.
Team is still looking at ways to work around this to PS players have the new layout.

@Jeto that’s understandable. Thanks for the clarification!
