[INVESTIGATING] Inconsistent Damage Coming From Monster Type or Monster Specs

What were you expecting to happen, and what actually happened
I only tested on Difficulty X of dungeons. In dungeon#1, both Giant Spider and Giant Rat have stats of 1629 damage and 500 power displayed. I expect both to do the same physical attack (not magic/spell) damage to me. Giant Spider does 3193 damage, Giant Rat does 2171 damage. As long as the game is not restarted, anytime I face Giant Spider in this dungeon, it will do 3193 damage to me, and Giant Rat will do 2171 damage to me. When I restarted the game, the damage values can be shuffled. Giant Spider changes to be 2171 damage, and Giant Rat does 3193 damage.

How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
Haven’t noticed before now, but is fairly reproducible to me.

Steps to make it happen again
Play difficulty X of dungeon#1. Match 1 set of 3 gems. Let monsters damage you. Note damage values vs monsters and vs menu monster stats. Restart game and repeat.

Did the block animation play? Sounds like it is just block triggering.

Don’t know the block animation. But I find it extremely unlikely it blocks a certain monster consistently until restarting.


I’ve passed this on to the Team to try and test!

The Rat does have a passive ability that gives 25% more Power when below 25% Life, which may be possibly related? Keep an out eye that happens to come into play.

And check if there is a block animation? Usually your Hero will raise their weapon when Blocking.

Kinda think this isn’t a thing anymore in 0.36.

Is this still an issue in Update 0.36 for anyone else?
