What happened to our Holiday Minions this year?
Not seeing a return for Nugget (the Uncarved) was a bummer, but missing out on a second (first for some) Kris Pengle was a massive disappointment. Kris is easily one of the most effective minions in the game—especially for blue builds—and remains a staple for high-level tourney play and chest/key farming. Nugget while not as good is still pretty solid and with his ability to light fires. Very useful with the Dwarven set, which is why players in the know call him, the Dwarven Dynamo!
If a dedicated holiday return isn’t possible, please consider:
These minions add a lot of flavor and strategy to the game. It would be great to see them become a reliable part of the yearly calendar again!
If a full holiday event isn’t in the cards, please consider:
These minions are a highlight of the PQ3 experience. Please bring them back!
They’re not so special if you have more than 1 really. And yes new players missed out but I’m sure there will be more in store for us down the line.
I think the random exalted mythic for armor shards was pretty nice especially since in Gems of war they hand out nothing super special for the holiday.
Gotta look at what we do get instead of always insisting on needing more.
Sorry man I don’t agree on this one

I appreciate the perspective, and as you know, I was actually the first to advocate for how great those random seasonal mythics are when they dropped. However, they serve a different purpose than these minions.
-
Farmability vs. Exclusivity: You can eventually farm mythic gear through standard play, but these holiday minions are simply unavailable if you missed their previous drop. Unlike mythics which can be farmed whenever you want (usually), Nugget and Kris Pengle are unique strategic “keys.”
-
Optimal Build Pathing: While random mythics are a nice bonus, they don’t replace the specific utility of someone like Nugget. His synergy with the Dwarven set (the “Dwarven Dynamo” effect) provides a unique mechanical advantage.

The Completionist Factor: This brings me to my next point: the health of the community. For a huge segment of the player base, completionism is a primary driver. In a game built on collection and optimization, having “dead slots” in a collection because of a missed seasonal window is a major deterrent for both veterans and new players.

Best for the Game: My argument isn’t about greed; I already have every minion. It’s about ensuring the game remains accessible and rewarding. Bridging the “have vs. have-not” gap by adding these to a Festival rotation would allow players to earn their way to a full collection and a competitive build without being locked out because they simply didn’t start playing PQ3 soon enough.
