Since aether was introduced, I saved up just over 2k. I now have 187 because I’ve crafted a few mythic items. I don’t really want to wait another couple of months to be able to craft more gear.
If we had other ways of earning it, we could enjoy the new crafting system a lot more.
Some possible sources of aether could be:

Alongside gems in adventures (as with the Dragonking’s Axe adventure)

Non-replayable adventures could give X aether for each leftover energy we have left
-
PvP and/or Events
-
Kingdom defence
-
Crest/bazaar bonus rewards
-
Ultimate seasonal caches
-
Purchase for ancient coins
I’m sure there’s other places too, but you get the idea.
