[Reported] Locked gems change color, leaving one or two locked gems on the board

Platform, device and operation system
Android One Plus 7t

What were you expecting to happen, and what actually happened
When effects happen, usually when the ai changed gems based on something the player did, like hide in the sand, sometimes locked gems seem to change color, resulting in one or two locked gems getting “stuck” on the board with the flashing square around them. You can move other gems to make a match with them, but they can’t be moved.

How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
It’s been happening intermittently since I started playing in April or May, but it only occurred recently when I had a chance to make a bug report. I’m not sure exactly what causes the color change, and since the game decided which gems to change, it’s not something I can repeat on demand.

Steps to make it happen again
Please detail the steps taken to trigger this bug. The more detailed the breakdown, the easier it is for us to test in-house.

See above. Unfortunately I also forgot to take a screen shot when it happened, sorry. :frowning: I’ll try to get one next time it happens.

I managed to get a screen shot of the behavior today.

The red gem to the right of the two flashing ones used to be a skull, until I turned a bunch of stuff red.

After I cleared out all the red stuff, the two skulls stayed behind, locked.

This happens to me multiple times everyday. The most annoying thing to me is when it locks gems of different colors next to each other making it harder to include them in a new match to get rid of them. Here’s an example.

Today I had a board start with broken locked colors, and I can’t even see a way for the blue V gem to have ever matched anything to trigger being locked in the first place.

Do you have a Firewalker’s Ring equipped? If so, maybe it created the red gem between the two blue gems.

I do, but that gem should have been locked then too, just locked as red, right, since it appeared, locked, and then changed color, remaining locked, if behavior was consistent

And one more instance, where the game failed to recognize there were no valid moves, because it seems to think that the incorrectly locked gems aren’t locked, as it kept telling me to move them. This caused me to have to restart a level 80 challenge, which is really frustrating.

I’ve seen the game suggest moving those incorrectly locked gems quite a few times, though thankfully not in the situation where there were no other possible moves.

Hopefully this response applies to all these gem overwriting situations:

Hey hey!

This issue does appear to be linked to the previously reported Awkward Matching Interaction bug and this should be resolved in the .37 update.
