Crafting is an arduous task. Especially for seasonal unique items when they roll with a very low permanent attribute.
Also, many long term players have completed their spell book and have no use for Spell Dust.
Often, it will take 5+ mythic sacrifices to get an item to max gear score, but that is usually because one ‘fixed’ attribute is much lower than the rest.
So, I thought it would be a good use of Spell Dust to ‘augment’ the refine process to normalize the attributes of an item. By “normalize” I mean change all attributes to the average of all existing attributes. In the screenshot below I would expect Vitality, Gold Bonus, and Ice Damage Resistance to go up and the other 3 attributes to drop. This would likely reduce the total sacrifices required to get the item to max. The cost could be variable based on the degree of the adjustment.
Something to fit the lore…
Spell dust can be mixed into a glimmering paste that you can use to:
“Polish” your armor for XXXX Spell Dust
“Sharpen/Reinforce” you Weapon/Shield for XXXX Spell Dust
“Shine” your Accessory for XXXX Spell Dust
Example result: all items adjust to the red line
