Twice Possessed, Fully Obsessed: Two Rework Ideas for Possessed
I’ve been mulling over how to make the Possessed trait in PQ3 feel more impactful and fun. Below are two rework ideas to give it some extra flair.
Idea 1: Enhanced Mana Surge
The current Possessed trait grants 3 mana to your spells at the start of each turn, but it could hit harder to really shine. This rework boosts its potency to make it feel more rewarding:
- New Effect: At the start of each turn, all four spells and your ultimate gain 4 mana automatically.
- Why It Works: Upping the mana from 3 to 4 and including ultimate’s makes Possessed a game-changer for spell-heavy and ultimate-focused builds. It ensures consistent, reliable mana flow, letting players unleash powerful abilities faster and more frequently, perfect for aggressive strategies in both PvE and PvP.
Idea 2: Gem-to-Skull Hybrid
This idea completely reimagines Possessed to blend mana generation with a new damage dynamic:
- New Effect: Matching colored gems causes those gems to also transform into skulls on the board. You still match these gems by their original color to gain mana (per standard spellcasting rules), but the matches also deal skull damage based on the number of gems matched.
- Why It Works: This rework turns Possessed into a versatile trait that fuels both spells and direct damage. The skull conversion adds a strategic twist, letting players control the board while dishing out extra damage. It’s a high-skill, high-reward option that could make Possessed a standout choice for creative builds.
