Which belt for KD?

Which belt is best for KD? Warlord’s Wrap or Esgaard Bandolier?

I’m already generating tons of skulls with spells.

I’d say Esgaard Bandolier has a slight edge, but I don’t think it matters that much tbh. I guess it really comes down to what you’re trying to optimize in your Kingdom Defense run:

  • Go with Esgaard Bandolier if you want passive board manipulation and to keep red off the field. By continuously eating up red gems, you deny red mana to shut down red enemies while creating a cleaner board for easier chain cascades.
  • Go with Warlord’s Wrap if you want to turn the massive skull spam you’re already doing into scaling, explosive damage.

Both have valid high-level arguments depending on whether you want a smoother board flow or raw damage output!

Thanks. I’ll play around with building a decent wrap. I use Gravedigger now so keeping the red mana has a function.

I’m also thinking of replacing the Corrupt Guard gloves with the Warlord ones. I’d lose the 28% crit chance bonus (I also use the CG shoulders), but the other set bonus could be better long-term, plus the Warlord gloves do a lot more damage.

Is the Warlord set bonus based on starting power? Or does it go up with my current power (as in every time I use Pay In Advance), does my base power grow and the DB is a percentage of that new power level?)

Yes, the Warlord set bonus and the Warlord’s Wrap calculate their scaling based on your starting power, not your current power.

This distinction is actually a massive blessing in disguise because of how the game’s mechanics used to work. If you remember the old calculations, the scaling was dynamic based on current power. Because of this, it was entirely possible to ramp up so fast that your damage numbers would completely overflow the game’s integer limit. You would suddenly exceed the maximum damage threshold, watch your damage sink into a permanent negative number, and find yourself stuck in a match with absolutely no way of winning. Changing it to base off starting power capped that scaling at a healthy, predictable, and incredibly high level without breaking the game’s math.

  • Warlord (2-Piece Set Bonus): Dynamically increases your Power by a percentage for every single Skull Gem currently sitting on the board.
  • The Wrap (Belt): Grants you a flat percentage boost of your starting Power every single time you make a skull match.

Because the Wrap ensures your overall baseline capability climbs with every skull match, it feeds beautifully into the board-wide skull amplification of the Warlord’s 2-piece set bonus.

In a parallel thread there is a runic belt thing as well. I personally use warlord since recently but runic might be as good or better.

And runic gloves are the most for kd skull fight imo.

Can you post a link to that thread please?

Also, is that your score? If so, you HAVE to show me a clip[ of your build.

i can try to record, but 70m was just once so far, 40m+ is more often (and it’s not the first hit)

Here’s the video
