I would love it if you could add a “Reduce Background Motion” toggle in the game settings menu like many websites have started these days.
This toggle would turn off the screen shaking animations, the screen floating animations from creatures like the harpies, and things of the sort. This would be particularly helpful on the days when I have migraines, as those effects tend to make me queasy.
If it gets implemented, we will include it in the patch notes for the update it will release in - QOLs are not something I really get “updates” on until it’s implemented or being worked on.
Unlike bug reports which I can track!
At this stage, it is just sitting as a request still.
I figured out how to save a video off to a usb drive to upload here, which I trimmed down to under 30mb on my computer so I could upload it. I hope this example mega cascade off my PvP opponent (kenpo) this morning helps explain the how badly we motion sensitive players need that reduce background motion setting in the game.
When I started this battle, I felt great. But this was unfortunately a bit of a stalemate match that lasted nearly 30 minutes with lots of cascading matches and screen shaking. By the time the battle finally concluded I was sweaty, queasy, and nauseated and had to walk away from my console and rest for a few hours.
As a lifelong sufferer of motion sickness in gaming (I’ve never been able to play anything in the first person perspective for longer than a few minutes without wanting to chuck), I can totally relate and sympathise.
There’s a surprising amount of games now that have screen shake toggle options in their accessibility menus, and this would make a great welcome addition in any upcoming PQ3 patches.
So it looks like this was addressed but not announced?
I might have missed it but have been checking regularly.
At least with the most recent update, there is a setting for this!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
What a relief!
Looks like it was missed from the patch notes cos the task wasn’t updated to completed! hahah
Currently, it only removes the shake effect, like from attacking and spells, it still does head tracking. But we plan on also removing that in future as well.
Yeah, I saw the toggle in the 4.0 push I believe and turned it on right away. The reduced shaking has definitely helped me, and I’m excited to hear further background movements are still being worked on. Thank you!
