So ever since boss rush was released i feel drop rates have been altered, ive been heavily farming the fallen order for some shoulders and hardly ever do i get any gear, and when i do its rare. Today i opened 7 diamond chest and i was given 6 rare and 1 epic (3 of the rares were in 1 chest). Now looking at season 3.3 dungeons i calculate ive done 387 dungeons, from all of these ive recieved 4 ledgendary gear pieces and 0 mythic, many playstation players are also noticing horrible drop ever since the update
And ultimate caches are just a joke as well and this season has also left out spells out of the caches as well and they still drop mostly rare gear.
I have been farming dungeons since the event rework and I haven’t noticed significantly different drops. The “open 8 diamond chests and find nothing” scenario seems sadly common (I no longer have any expectations when opening chests to avoid frustration), but with time the mythic drops arrive. The issue I see with mythic drops is that the rate is so low that it is not uncommon to suffer from long streaks of no drops at all for weeks even with intensive farming.
Another one here that is seriously miffed over the relatively recent drop rates, though I noticed a significant change at the moment the Festival of the Arcane went live.
It has got to the point where my motivation for farming chests has dropped to an all time low as I’ve never seen such a lack of gear and spells in lvl 100 chests.
Also on Playstation btw.
The game is a joke!!! The drop rates are disgraceful. I used play tge game a lot and also purchased all passes + VIP + offers. I now only play the game a little bit on some days and have stopped spending as I felt it was pointless.
Why spend money and play a lot to end up getting nothing.
It used to be really nice to get Mythic items even when i have everything but now i can’t even get a Diamond chest let alone a Mythic item.
They are just greedy and want all players to spend spend spend but give nothing back in return if you want my advice don’t spend any money so that way you won’t be disappointed.
Spell pages are in the new caches, I’ve gotten them (both spells).
50 ultimate caches for me and none.
No drop rate data or percentage chance data has been changed. The only things introduced since the new and updated events were the new chests levels (mentioned in the patch notes) and changing Seasonal items to always drop variant gear.
Should there be any instance where this data is changed, I would expect that information to get passed onto me so I can update everyone.
I also passed this thread onto confirm in case any change was made that possibly unintentionally changed drop rate chance, and we have not found any data so far to be any different to it was prior to the new events releasing.
Ouch. I have hit streaks like that. I had around a month with no mythic drops, then two in one chest. One of our Kingdom members had a streak so bad and long I thought she had to be bugged.
I’ve been doing hunts working on casting my ultimate spells with alts the 1000 times, etc, and I seem to be getting more mythics than I normally have.
I hope your bad streak ends with a nice Immortal Mythic!
Just had one of those myself. Was fishing for a Legendary seasonal drop during the recent Coin Collector adventure, and hit an absurdly bad RNG streak, where it took me over 12k ancient coins to pull a single copy at a 5% drop rate. Along the way there, I pulled a Mythic gear drop, two Mythic relics, and three (!!!) seasonal Legendary pets, all at much rarer odds to pull.
I’ve also had the exact inverse happen and pull a multiple copies of a Legendary seasonal drop in a single multi-pull.
RNG can be really streaky one way or the other sometimes. Sucks extra hard when you happen to experience extreme (3+ SD/sigma) bad RNG streaks. Eventually, it happens to everyone.
I’ve noticed this too, ruby & diamond chests have been terrible. I’d say 20% of ruby dungeon chests drop no dungeon loot, just gold, food, ore etc.
This is way more frequent since the time boss rush was released.
I confirm they above message, I was as well heavily farming Fallen, and most of the chests at any level had around zero low level gear items.
I did not see this for any other dungeon but really just the fallen one, season 1.4.
@Jeto is it possible to investigate, with specific focus on this season? Seems off to me that someone else has exactly the same observation.
It’s not just the Fallen Order.
Another 100+ lvl 100 Diamond and Ruby chests in Immortal Wounds and all I seem to be getting is food, ore, some spells if I’m lucky (but only in the lower end of double digits) and some useless Uncommon to Rare Gear.
“Streaks of bad luck” shouldn’t occur like this if based purely on probability…unless of course the probability is skewed.
I am afraid that practically anything can occur based on probability, specially with low drop rates and sample size. 10 heads in a row when tossing a coin? Nothing impresive. 2 mythic gear pieces in the same chest? I have seen a few screenshots. I have even seen getting 2 mythic relics or 3 mythic gear pieces in the same chest, which according to my estimations would have a chance to happen way lower than 1 in a milion. But when we take all the players, all the time they play and all the chests they open the sample size becomes big enough for nearly everything to happen to some players, be it something great as those examples I have given, or something frustrating as extremely bad luck streaks.
I have experienced getting an average of 1 mythic relic drop in chests every 3 days for a month, and then not getting a single one in 2 months. Failing to get any mythic gear drop in weeks or getting 5 the same day. That is the essence of chance and probability. I believe that the issue is that the human brain seems to pay more attention to bad news than to good ones, so we tend to overlook or even forget good streaks and only remember the bad ones. Therefore, instead of seeing a “compensating” effect when sometimes we are lucky, sometimes unlucky and sometimes we are just in between, we tend to believe that we are more unlucky than anything else, which makes us blame probability itself.
Additionally we have no idea of the inner workings of the game. The devs carefully hide most info on most drop rates, therefore making it impossible to know if our results are within what it should be expected. Maybe it is just that what we had believed to be average was in fact a lucky streak. And of course the probability is skewed, the devs define it. And the lower the probability of good drops the more likely we are to suffer from bad streaks.
Now, it won’t be me who will bet on everything working as “it should” (which as I said before we don’t even know). We have seen too many things failing in this game and not being fixed until any of us raised it to be sure that there is nothing else that is not working as the devs intend. I want to make sure we don’t forget (or for those they weren’t yet here, that they get to know it) the issue with the crafter RNG we had last year. In summary, many players reported getting too many of the same gear piece with doing random crafts. The devs said they tested it and everything was fine. But more and more players started to give evidence that something was off, with multiple cases of several crafts in a row being the same item. Finally, the bug was found and fixed, but it should still stand out as an example of how we cannot always trust game RNG and dismiss our observations as probability outliers.
So even if personally I believe there is nothing new here, just bad luck streaks that repeat and change over time and players, I won’t be the one to disregard what is being argued here. First, because the feeling of frustration is understandable, real and contrary to the enjoyment of the game, I have personally suffered it a lot when it seemed that I was wasting my time getting no reward whatsoever for my efforts. Be it something within the normal workings of the game or the result of some change, too many players experiencing this shouldn’t be good for the game. And second, because as we saw with the crafter RNG issue we cannot trust blindly that RNG is working as it should. I trust Jeto that there hasn’t be any recent change they know of, but forgive us if from time to time, and specially when the frustration piles up high, we start to be suspicious of bugs and errors that even the devs may be not aware of.
@Higure I appreciate the lengthy reply but I’ve had barely anything of note in lvl 100 Diamonds and Rubies for weeks now. That’s a good few hundred top tier chests…and I’m far from being the only one.
Quite a few of us were highlighting this within our Playstation community groups. We all noticed a significant decrease in drops. Is that how probability works? I don’t think so. Coincidence that a noticeable percentage of our Kingdom have all been experiencing an identical “unlucky streak” over a similar time period, unlike any we’ve experienced for such a duration previously?
I doubt it. That certainly isn’t down to RNG and that’s why taf made the thread.
Maybe drops are calculated differently on a per platform basis rather than globally, who knows. But something feels amiss, on the Playstation platform at least.
I think this will be the 1st time im not going to be able to complete the goals of getting 6 ledgendary gear pieces, thats from 9 chest a day and over 40 season caches.
If there are many people sharing the observations/feelings it is something that shouldn’t be disregarded for sure.
At least in our discord there hasn’t been anything about this, even though we have a lot of players who report when things feel wrong. There are still frequent screenshots of lucky drops and just 3 days ago I saw the first screenshot of a triple mythic drop There shouldn’t be differences between platforms but… A lot of things happen in this game that shouldn’t. Whatever the reason, I really hope all of you go back to more regular drops soon
Cheers Higure.
… … …
Just wanted to say I’ve been on a pretty lucky streak recently and received a somewhat reasonable number of mythics. I haven’t been specifically farming anything and I wish I got more but I certainly haven’t noticed a drop off in the last few weeks.
