Russian chat filter is odd

Hello.
Russian chat text filter is particularly odd - it just *** the parts of the normal words, based on the weird selection of vocabulary items whereas keeping real swear words intact in some cases.
Is there any way to revise that? I may help!

Cheers

That’s sick, frankly! @Jeto the chat filter is already disruptive in Russian, but it’s plain wrong. Here’s an example.

I used “endgame”, and it filtered off “ga” which is the same letters as “gay”.
But it let slide Bliat, which is a clear swear word in slavic.
It also doesn’t care if the letter combo is written as word, or a part of the word.
Like, in English it would be:
Assistance → ***istance
Associate → ***ociate
Cocktail → ****tail.

The thing is… That this already happens :joy:

They are slowly improving it, I remember when boring used to get censored (b****g), or skulls. But as you see with the ****atrice, we still get it in some English words. Not only that, but in Spanish too (the next one). So it seems to be a global issue, regardless of the language :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Can we run the poll here to remove this stupid filter, that does more harm than it’s useful? The chat feature is already very harsh and unforgiving (“send” next to “cross” to delete all), and with these filters it doesn’t make the experience better

Passing it onto the team and our localisation group to investigate further!

Additionally, I had posted this in a different thread and it was not replied to
