On the positive extreme, in Elite Green Tourney, I have very little competition. So little, that the game is doing all sorts of weird things trying to draft opponents of my perceived strength from other tourneys that I now present the high-scoring opponent of the week:
That’s right, folks. A Necromancer with red gear? WUT.
(Side note, I’ve seen all sorts of oddball combinations besides this as well as opponents with missing pets/spells equipped).
On the flip side, there seems to be nothing that can be done with the current scoring system in Open Tourney to catch the three players with extreme outlier scores at likely citadel 300+. There’s just too much weight given to citadel levels (and then all the incidental perks that come along with those levels on top of that as well) for anyone else to see them reliably enough over the course of the week. The three of them can easily see each other as comparable opponents, so it is easy for them to max out their weekly scores against each other. The rest of us just fall in line randomly behind them based upon how lucky we are occasionally spotting them as the scoring gap is too large to see them with any reliability.
I was one top 3 in one of the tournaments last week and i’ve seen the issue. Firstly the top player was in 40000 points and I just rode his tailcoat as i was lucky enough to A. get paired with him every round and B. managed to beat him before he 1 shot me. - now no matter what no one else would of caught me if they never matched with him. as they would of never made enough by beating me. So it’s actually a fault of the very high level players being put in the same groups as the lower level players. Just an observation
Okay, just to make short and precisely: they are not able to code a proper PvP system (based on many others and my own experiences over some weeks now).
I have seen several players without minions and others who obviously took off their equipment to gain an advantage. I am in favor of each member of a tournament being able to fight each opponent at least once and for defeats suffered passively to count towards the ranking. So everyone will probably be wearing their best gear when out of the game.
I believe that not having minions or having a low gear doesn’t benefit you at all with the new PvP system. Also, wearing your best gear in terms of level is not the same as wearing your best gear in terms of winning PvPs, so I am against having to use the highest level gear I have instead of the gear I believe is most useful for PvPs.
This is my 5th or 6th week without any significant progress in open tourney at all. Another 11 opponent suggestions wasted …
So I would say this strengthened my stated pov about their non existing ability for a proper working pvp. First turn 0, then turn 1, now this desaster.
I really doubt it will become any better with any planned update in the future. Patch it to death, others have achieved it before, if you are not willing to look at other games and their excellent pvp systems.
