My jaw hit the floor when I opened my reward email for today’s kingdom defense and saw not 1, but 2 relics in the rewards email.
But then, I noticed that the relics that were awarded were of the wrong type. I received Silver Cogs which are Greater relics, which are not listed on the possible reward list. Only Superior relics are listed as possible relic drops for that tier.

So this was not a bug and it was because of poor communication. Sounds familiar. Hard to believe that players didn’t know exactly what was going on with the system. If only we had a player with deep knowledge about how the system is working as designed and described in the patch notes.
Oh well.
