So you are saying there is an “increased chance”. But what was the chance before?

For argument’s sake, I will be generous and suggest that the drop rate of a relic from a chest is 0.5%. So far, what little evidence of drops exists suggests that they are obtainable from gold+ chests. So your chance of getting a relic from a dungeon run are currently 0.0031%. You need to complete an average of 645 dungeon runs to obtain a relic. The fact that most people have gotten what few relics have been found from non-dungeon chests (mark-bought chests opened by minions, quest/sidequest chests) supports these facts as people are more likely to be openings these types of chests rather than dungeon chests. Completing Dungeons is not a means to obtain a relic.

Quick Update: I have now completed 1000 dungeon runs post 0.35 (~85% between 70-75, the rest level 100), opening every chest but wooden along the way (either through keys or minions), although i might have salvaged a few iron chests if I’m honest. For my efforts I have 1x Iron Nails. So assuming that Relics only appear in Gold+ chests (which means your chance of even having an eligible chest from a dungeon run are 31%), my “calculated” drop rate from eligible chests is about 0.3%, from all chests (i.e. Dungeon completion) is about 0.1%. Small chance indeed!

Given this evidence, Relics from Dungeons never ever lived up to “small chance” that was pitched even into 0.36 with this:

So obviously I’m ecstatic to hear about an “increased chance”. But does that mean that the drop rates have improved?

Wooden Chests will no longer be given as rewards from Dungeons

Iron Chests from Dungeons will now drop Runes, Scrolls, Relics and Crystals. Iron Chests earned outside of Dungeons remain unchanged.

Interesting! So theoretically, the drop rates could have remained the same but the “increased chance” could be the result of Wooden Chests being removed and Iron Chests supposedly being included in the eligible chests. Given the fact that no one has yet communicated that they have found a Relic, it’s beginning to feel like this is the more likely scenario. I hope that’s not the case.
